My goal as your NYC lifestyle photographer for families is to guide you through a fun, easy family photo session that results in images you will love for a lifetime. While we will always get a few classic, looking-at-the-camera shots, the emphasis is on candid, real moments and creating images that show you and your family as your authentic selves.
I guide you through the photography session from start to finish in a variety of ways - from helping you choose the best location for your photos, to assisting with outfit selection to ensure you all look your best, to providing you with prompts during the session that get everyone smiling and interacting in a natural, laidback way.
My style is organic and natural - the images I create for you will feel timeless and classic. I'm here to bring out the best in what's already there between you and your family - the real smiles, the sweet laughs, and the genuine emotion and connection you share.
We had absolutely the BEST session with Jackie! She made us feel so comfortable and was so patient taking photos with our 10-month-old. Our photos came out absolutely stunning and were way better than we could've imagined! I'm so grateful for her ability to capture these sweet moments of our little family. Jackie did a wonderful job photographing my daughter's first birthday ceremony ("dohl") and also capturing all the extended family members who were present. She was great getting the kids' attention and found all the spots with amazing natural light around the house. Jackie took beautiful family photos for us and captured all the sweet in-between moments. She tried to make sure that we had a great session, right from sending a questionnaire making sure she knew what kind of photos I wanted to placing a monkey on her camera to entertain my toddler! Jackie made taking photos so easy. We are not the most photogenic couple and can be super awkward at times, but she made us feel comfortable and relaxed. How it works
Before your NYC lifestyle photography session I will send you a questionnaire so I can learn about you and your family, and your ideas and preferences for the session. This way I can tailor the experience specifically to your family's needs. I'll help you pick out the perfect outfits by sending you Pinterest boards with links and inspiration, as well as offering personalized guidance and my best tips and tricks honed from my years of experience. I'll also help you with picking the best location for outdoor sessions.
Before the session
During the session, it's all about relaxing and interacting with your kids! You'll never be left standing there wondering what to do in front of the camera - I'll keep you feeling comfortable and supported as I guide you through the session with prompts and laidback instruction. My goal is to keep everyone feeling relaxed - no stiff posing, no fake smiles. Yes, we'll get that perfect shot looking at the camera - but the majority of the session will be about creating joyful moments between you and your little ones. That's when the real magic happens!
during the session
Within two weeks of your session, I will be in touch to set up a time for you to view the edited photos from your session. You'll have a three day window to choose your favorites and purchase your digital file package and/or artwork. I'll be there to help you decide how you'd like to enjoy your lifestyle photos in terms of artwork. If you're interested, we can put together a custom heirloom album, design a gallery wall and order framed artwork, create a custom matted album or folio - or you can just purchase digital files. The choice is yours!
