Newborn sessions can take place in your home where we can focus on your family where they are most comfortable. With an emphasis on soft, natural light and minimalistic styling, I aim to create images that feel timeless, classic, and organic.
In studio Brooklyn Newborn Photography sessions
The studio provides a beautiful, clean, and simple backdrop for your newborn photos, without any distractions in the background. In the studio, I’m able to create photos for you where the focus is solely on your new baby, your family, and the emotional connection you share. The light is always perfect, and bonus: you don’t need to worry about cleaning or decluttering your apartment!
We worked with Jackie for our maternity shoot and loved her and the photos so much that we decided to to use her for our newborn, 6month, and 1year photos! She is incredibly communicative, and offers everything from posing to outfit selection guidance. We are convinced that newborn photography should be an Olympic sport, and Jackie was so gracious and patient to make sure that we got beautiful photos that we will treasure forever all working within our small New York apartment. Highly recommend her for any photography needs.

How it works
Before your Brooklyn newborn photography session I will send you a questionnaire so I can learn about you and your family, and your ideas and preferences for the session. This way I can tailor the experience specifically to your family's needs. I'll help you pick out the perfect outfits by sending you Pinterest boards with links and inspiration, as well as offering personalized guidance and my best tips and tricks honed from my years of experience. I'll also help you with picking the best location for outdoor sessions.
Before the session
During the session, all you need to do is relax and have fun with your family! I'll guide you through a series of setups and "poses" (ie, you won't look stiff and posed, but you also won't be standing there in front of my camera with no idea of how to stand or what to do with your hands!). My goal is to put you at ease, keep things relaxed and comfortable, and capture the sweetest moments of you and your family during our NYC newborn photography session. This is a time for you to play with your kids, cuddle your newborn, and just enjoy some carefree time with your family. I'll take care of the rest!
during the session
Within two weeks of your session, I will be in touch to let you know that your photos are ready, and to set up a time for you to view them. At that point, I'll send you the edited images in a private online gallery. You'll have a three day window to choose your favorites from here and purchase your digital file package. Once you've chosen your digital files, we can talk about how you'd like to enjoy your Brooklyn baby photos in terms of artwork. This step is optional! If you're interested, we can put together a custom heirloom album, design a gallery wall and order framed artwork, put together a custom matted album or folio - whatever works for you!

Q: When do Brooklyn newborn photography sessions take place?
A: Timing for your newborn session is very flexible. It can be anywhere from 5 days after birth to 3 weeks, or we can wait longer. It’s about when you’re ready, and it’s never too late.
Q: Where do newborn sessions take place?
A: Newborn sessions can take place in your home or in my natural light studio, based in Greenpoint, Brooklyn. The studio is great for anyone whose home doesn’t get a lot of natural light, or if you just want a clean, simple backdrop for your session. The backdrop in the studio is very simple so all the focus is on you, your baby, and the emotions.

Q: How long do Brooklyn baby photo sessions take??
A: The length of a session is variable, depending on the needs of your baby. I will walk you through a series of seamless setups so we get all of the images we need in an efficient manner, but ultimately we follow baby’s lead. If your baby needs breaks for feeding, changing, comforting, or anything else- we will do that. My goal is to move through the session in a way that maximizes your time, but there’s no time limit on it - no rushing and no stressing.
Q: Do newborn sessions include the whole family?
A: Yes! Brooklyn newborn photography sessions are also family sessions. We will capture solo photos of baby and all of the cute details (baby’s hair, hands, little smiles, swaddled shots, baby toes), as well as shots of baby with siblings, siblings alone, mom and dad with baby, mom with baby, dad with baby, your pet with baby if you’d like - all the combinations!
